On Saturday, Oct. 24th, Justin came home from South Carolina to visit for a week. It was so much fun having him home and we filled our days with fun. So the next posts will be about what we did during that week! Saturday was mostly hugging and not letting daddy out of our sight! Sunday we went to our church as usual but it was great having his help again!
Monday
We had our good friends, Laura and Leandro over for FHE to eat and carve and/or paint pumpkins.
I let Myah and Reagan decorate their own cupcakes and it ended up just being a mound of frosting.
Justin's pumpkin took forever as you can tell by his face, but it was worth it!
(P.S. The five pumpkins is NOT an announcement of any kind. Myah just wanted a big one and a little one!)
Tuesday we visited Justin's family in the morning and that night we had our other good friends, the Schultz's over for dinner and playing! No pictures, darn it. I did get a video of the kids playing a game though.
Our ward Halloween Carnival was a blast! I'm always so surprised how many people come. We have a LOT of inactive people in our ward but it seems like most everybody comes, so it was fun to see everyone having fun and all that those in charge did to make it happen. We had chili, carnival games, and a costume parade/trick or treating.
Putting makeup on the gals!
Our little princesses!
Unfortunately, I was the only one really ready for this picture!
Reagan and Myah were so excited about their full buckets!
Thursday we drove down to Salt Lake to meet the Lead Animator Justin currently works with at Moondog Animation. Moondog is the studio in South Carolina and most everyone who works there is living down there...except for Andy, the lead animator. He refused to move his family down but his resume is so amazing Moondog couldn't let that stop them from getting Andy to work for them! So what are the odds that he would actually live in Utah! We met with him and his wife, Kelsey, and our kids all played while we chatted. We had such a fun time talking and learning from each others' situations. This was definitely a highlight of the week for all of us...though I guess the whole week was a highlight!
Friday morning Justin's sister, Katie, hosted a Halloween Party for the grandkids and some neighbors. The party was complete with games, cookie decorating, and snacks. My camera decided to die so I only got one picture and one the family sent to me!
The Calder grandkids.
After the party, Justin's mom took our kiddos home so Justin and I could go on a date! We ate at Texas Roadhouse and went to see the movie, The Intern. So much fun! We loved the movie and the food, of course!
Friday night we got this little gem before Reagan went to bed:
Saturday-Halloween!
We had dinner at my parents house and then took the kids trick or treating around our parents' neighborhood. A nice part about our parents living so close is we can trick or treat in the same neighborhood and hit both of their houses!
My parents.
They made sure to smell every carved pumpkin that had a candle in it!
Justin's parents.
The loot!
The girls absolutely loved trick or treating this year. Reagan kept up with Myah almost the whole time and they had a great time. It seemed to blow their minds that everyone was giving out candy! The weather was also quite nice! I thought it was going to be really cold but luckily it warmed up a bit that day so the girls didn't even need to wear coats.
After this, we left the girls to sleep at my parents house so I could take Justin to the airport early the next morning. Hopefully the next five weeks go by quickly until he comes home!
A few weeks ago our next door neighbors and good friends moved to Ohio. Our kids are best friends so it was REALLY hard to see them go. Myah and Reagan talk about Ayden and Haylee every other day and we miss them all so much! These pictures were from the last time they played together before they moved.
I cried for half of the day after we said goodbye...sad time. Good thing we have technology to still talk and Skype!
Disney
I have to post about my niece's dog, Disney. Myah and Reagan talk about him all the time! My brother's family went on vacation and my parents watched Brenna's dog while they were gone. The girls fell IN LOVE with him. He is the sweetest and cutest dog!
Reagan always wanted to have Disney close.
We also had a fun day playing with Grandma and Grandpa. We even had a fire and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows.
On October 15th, we went to the Kaysville Fire Station with some of Myah and Reagan's friends and cousins. My mom had made an appointment for our group and we all seemed to have a great time! The firemen were so awesome and were great with the kids! We watched a safety movie, saw and went inside a fire truck and ambulance, and got to see one of the firemen put on all of his fire gear.
I wanted to get a picture of them in front of the door but I guess the sun was too bright!
