Black Island Farms

Last Saturday we went to Black Island Farms in Syracuse. It's a farm that is made into a Halloween extravaganza! They have corn mazes and all sorts of things to do...mostly for kids...but we are pretty much kids ourselves so we fit in just fine! This is me and Myah (she's asleep on me) in front of the pig races!
The pigs started out at one side of this little barn and then we'd all yell "Sooey!" and they'd be let loose to run to get their food on the other side. They did this many times and it was hilarious!
Here's me and Justin (and Myah...still sleeping) in the corn maze!
On top of a bridge in the corn maze. It was beautiful!

Justin and Myah after they went down a slide and the farm! It was a much bigger slide, not the one in this picture...but this was where the shade was.

Myah's Baby Blessing

On October 9th was Myah's baby blessing in our LDS ward in Layton. Justin gave such a beautiful blessing. Everything went perfect (no diaper explosions or screaming). She looked so beautiful in her blessing dress made by her Nana (Justin's mom, Julie). Julie did an amazing job with this dress! It's too bad they only wear it once!

After the blessing, we all went over to my parents house for lunch and everyone brought very yummy food! It was a good time!
I love this first picture of Myah. She does NOT look amused at all and looks like she is done with this photo-shoot! She's so cute though, so we of course have to take a billion more pictures of her!

Bubbles

Myah's salavary glands have developed and have come in full force! She loves to blow spit bubbles and drool. We'll look over at her and it looks like she's foaming at the mouth and then we'll see that her onesie is drenched! It's funny, but I think it's cute...at least for now!

Buying pumpkins!

Last week we went to this little Halloween lot in Layton and bought some pumpkins. The lot was decorated so fun and you could walk around and pick out your own pumkins, hay bails, etc. We took some pictures and had a lot of fun!

Ongoing dentist visits

I went to the dentist 3 weeks ago for the first time after Myah's been born. He found 4 cavities so I went back the next week to get them all filled. When I went back, he explained that after my last visit they switched whoever does their images and he actually found 4 other cavities! 2 of them need crowns! I was not excited but I trust this dentist and he showed me the images and I could see that I had problems in my mouth!
I went back for the 3rd time yesterday and he prepped the 2 crowns and filled the other 2 cavities. Lets just say it was not fun and I was in a lot of pain that night. I have temporary crowns until they make my permanent ones and they feel really weird. He had to scratch down my 2 teeth a lot and had to go a little beneith my gums (as they always do with crowns), but the temporaries don't meet with my gums so I feel like everytime I eat anything, I'm going to jam all sorts of food in them. It's really uncomfortable! I hope I survive the next 2 weeks until I get my permanent ones on!

Myah update

Myah is doing great! I love seeing her grow physically and with personality! I took her to her 2 month check up a few weeks ago and the doctor pretty much said she's perfect! (and of course I think so too!) She's a little above average for her height, but I guess that's expected when her dad is 6 ft 4 in! She's smiling a lot now and making cute noises! She also loves to stand (as long as we balance her). Justin and I are loving being parents!

Myah Louise Calder

Here's our sweet little Myah Louise Calder! Born July 29th at about 10:30 pm. 7 lbs 7 oz and 20 inches. She has just been the sweetest girl and we are so lucky to have her. She's doing great and I've been loving spending my time with her...hence why I dropped off the face of the earth with posting!
